Short-Term 5 Week Contract: 40 hrs/week

Reports to: VP, Spirits – Public Label

 

About the Role

Public Label, a leading full-service marketing and field execution agency, is seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated Area Sales Manager to represent our beverage client — a standout player in the booming Ready-to-Drink (RTD) category.

 

As an Area Sales Manager, you’ll be on the front lines of market expansion. You’ll drive sales execution, grow account relationships, and work directly with distributor teams and retail decision-makers to bring this exciting new product to life in key markets.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

· Work in close collaboration with the sales team and distributor leads to develop and implement long and short-term sales plans to achieve client goals and initiatives.

· Work with supplier representatives to understand the brand and sales goals and support their efforts to increase market share.

· Collaborate with key accounts in a geographic region to improve the distribution of product within set accounts

· Call on key accounts, build relationships, and negotiate brand recognition through key visibility tools

· Review sales data and statistics and provide relevant reports to the senior area sales managers and/or client directly

· Identify gaps within the geographical territory and explore methods to bridge these gaps through sales strategies

· Make sales pitches and presentations to existing and prospective clients as a key area sales manager

· Gaining distribution (or secondary placement) of our core SKUS, Securing displays

· Identify, cultivate and grow strategic customer relationships

· Negotiate sales deals, POS, programming, education etc.

· Executing appropriate POS

· High-level reporting of competitive activity in market

 

 

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For

· 3+ years of sales or account management experience in beverage alcohol, RTD, or CPG industry

· Strong understanding of distributor systems and account-level selling

· Track record of meeting sales goals and increasing product visibility in competitive markets

· Existing relationships with key retail and off-premise accounts in your region

· Familiarity with alcohol merchandising standards, state regulations, and market compliance

· Experience with new product launches and brand activation programs

· Proactive, organized, and capable of managing your own book of business with minimal supervision

· Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills

· Comfortable working in a fast-paced, startup-style environment

· Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); CRM tools a plus

· Must be at least 21 years old with reliable transportation

 

Physical Requirements

· Ability to lift, carry, and transport products or promotional materials weighing 35–50 lbs

· Comfortable standing, walking, and moving through retail and off-premise environments for extended periods

· Ability to drive across a designated sales territory, including multiple account visits in one day

· Must be willing to work non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends as needed
